GuardTune Privacy Policy

Privacy principles

GuardTune respects your privacy and aims to collect only information reasonably required to provide, secure and improve the GuardTune service.

Information we may process

Depending on the features you use, GuardTune may process information such as your name, email address, phone number, Customer ID, account information, license status, subscription information, checkout policy-acceptance time/version, device identifier, device name, GuardTune version, activation status and limited technical information required to operate licensing, notifications, support and update services.

PayU India processes payment credentials and payment instruments for GuardTune purchases. GuardTune stores the order number, amount, plan, payment status and payment references needed for fulfillment, receipts, refunds and support. GuardTune does not receive or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or online-banking password.

Local PC scans

GuardTune features such as antivirus scanning, Cleaner, Performance, Privacy, Tools and driver review primarily analyze information locally on your Windows PC. GuardTune does not upload your personal documents merely because they are scanned locally.

If a future cloud-based security or reputation feature sends file hashes, metadata or files for analysis, that functionality will be disclosed before it is enabled.

Licensing and trial information

GuardTune sends licensing-related information to GuardTune servers, including a stable GuardTune device identifier, device name, trial dates, activation status and license entitlement information. The stable identifier is derived locally from a Windows machine identifier and hashed before use by GuardTune; the underlying Windows identifier is not sent as the GuardTune device ID. This information is used to prevent trial abuse, enforce device limits, maintain subscriptions and provide customer-account functionality.

Security logs and diagnostics

GuardTune may store diagnostic or security information required to troubleshoot errors, protect the service and investigate misuse. Sensitive information should not intentionally be included in diagnostic information unless required to resolve a specific support request.

Website information

When you visit guardtune.com, standard server logs may record information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and technical request information.

Optional analytics and privacy choices

We use Google Analytics only after you accept optional analytics. It helps us understand page visits, device/browser information, interactions with download or purchase buttons, and general traffic patterns. Google may process network information such as your IP address when an analytics request is sent. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords or payment credentials in analytics events.

Google Analytics can use cookies such as _ga and related cookies. Our analytics implementation removes query strings and fragments from the page URL and referrer supplied to Google and disables Google Signals and advertising personalization signals. Optional analytics is rejected until you choose to accept it. Rejecting it does not prevent downloads or purchases.

Your choice is stored in your browser for up to six months. Use Privacy settings in the footer to change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawing stops our analytics tracking, clears accessible Google Analytics cookies for guardtune.com and reloads the page to unload the Google tag. It does not undo data already sent.

Necessary account/session/security cookies are separate and support sign-in and account protection. We do not enable Google Ads remarketing or advertising storage through this optional analytics choice. Advertising measurement or personalization features, if introduced, require a separate review and appropriate consent.

Account sign-in and service providers

If you choose Google sign-in, GuardTune uses Google's sign-in service to authenticate your request and may receive your account identifier, name and email address to establish or link your GuardTune account. Email/password sign-in is also available. GuardTune does not ask for your Google password. Payment, infrastructure and email providers process information needed to deliver their respective services.

Service providers

GuardTune uses service providers for infrastructure, payment processing and email delivery. PayU India processes checkout/payment information on its hosted payment service. GuardTune's email provider processes purchase, licensing and support email. Providers process information as needed to perform their services and under their applicable contractual and legal obligations.

Data retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for licensing, account management, security, legal, accounting and operational purposes.

Security

GuardTune uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect customer information. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights regarding access, correction or deletion of certain personal information. Requests may be sent to service@guardtune.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as GuardTune evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, providing additional notice.
